Benefits of choosing a ROSS/AMK Tilt Kneader
What does a ROSS/AMK Tilt Kneader do?
ROSS/AMK Kneader Extruders are designed for the mixing and discharging of heavy viscous materials exceeding 10 million cP. These machines are used throughout the chemical, pharmaceutical, plastic, coating, ink, paint, adhesive, composite, and food product industries in the manufacturing of highly viscus, thick and very sticky products such as silicone rubber, putties, printing ink, oxide ceramics, hard metals, and marzipan.
How does a ROSS/ Tilt Kneader work?
The Tilt Kneader includes two sigma blades that rotate toward each other at differential speeds. Each blade moves the material in opposite directions thereby providing excellent cross mixing of all raw materials. The blades pass the trough walls and each other at close clearances. This close clearance provides a shearing and tearing action that is beneficial to the size reduction of solids such as rubber and plastic pellets. Once the mix cycle is complete the trough of the mixer is tilted and the mixture is discharged to a secondary container for transfer to packaging or to downstream operations.

Extremely viscous mixtures
Kneaders are well proven and reliable mixers employed in the compounding of extremely viscous mixtures that cannot be processed efficiently in vertical-style agitators such as double planetary mixers.
Mix and ship viscous mixtures in the same container.
Ross Double Planetary Mixers designed to match standard 55-gallon drums enable manufacturers to produce viscous mixtures right in the shipping container. Advantages include minimal clean-up, waste generation, storage and handling.
