John Paterson, Product Manager, recently announced the introduction of the new PreMax, a highly efficient Pre-Mixer used to improve pigment dispersion prior to Media milling operations.

The PreMax contains a specially designed “Delta” rotor/stator that creates high flow and shear rates. The PreMax has proven that it can in some cases eliminate the need for a media mill, and in all cases to reduce the number of passes required to obtain a high quality dispersion. When a media mill is used to finish a product in a single pass, the PreMax can most often eliminate the need for the mill altogether. When the product requires multiple passes, experience has shown the PreMax can reduce milling time by up to 50% of that which is normally required.

The PreMax is available in a wide range of sizes up to 200 hp and is normally provided with a conventional hydraulic lift assembly.
